Corn steep liquor is a concentrated liquid extracted from the water used in the initial stages of the corn wet grinding process. Using fresh Corn steep liquor as raw material, the Corn steep liquor powder was obtained by instantaneous heating at low temperature and spray drying. This way the water-soluble proteins are well preserved and the product retains all its properties. The process of making Corn steep liquor powder is as follows:
Steeping a procedure used during wet corn milling. The major objectives for corn steeping are to induce chemical and physical changes in the kernel by leaching the soluble components from the corn. Cleaned shelled corn is soaked for 30-48 hours at 45℃-50℃ in a solution. The steeped liquid is then separated from the non-soluble corn solids , which are further separated into germ, bran, starch, and gluten protein. The steeped liquid is concentrated by triple-effect steam evaporator to corn steep liquor which contains dry matter of 45-55%.

The corn steep liquor will be stored into storage tank after purification firstly by sieves and secondly by bag-filters.
Heat treatment of 100 degree for 30 minutes,high temperature kills harmful substances

When ready for production, get the corn steep liquor stirred in the stirring tank and get it heated under the temperature of 40℃ and then fed into the spraying dry tower. The corn steep liquor will be spray dried into corn steep liquor powder in the tower (Inlet air is about 140℃)
The spray dried corn steep liquor powder will be transited into crushing machine to be crushed and dedusted.
Finally, we have the qualified powder form of corn steep liquor. The finished product shall be packaged after inspection. 

Corn steep liquor powder is easy to absorb moisture, therefore, the packaging is layered packaging, the outer bag is coated woven bag, The second layer is plastic bags, during the storage period will not occur moisture absorption phenomenon, storage period is not easy to caking.

Storage conditions of Corn steep liquor powder :

Store in an airtight container at room temperature to keep the environment dry and clean. The shelf life is 2 years. This product should be sealed immediately after opening the package during use. If conditions permit, it is best to store in a dry and clean place below 25 degrees. Unsealed products should be used up as soon as possible, because the product is easy to absorb moisture, so it is easy to produce false caking in high temperature or humid weather, but does not affect the quality of the product and normal use, so it needs to be stored in a cool, dry and ventilated place.
