1: What is corn steep liquor powder organic fertilizer

2:Effect of corn steep solids on saline-alkali land

As more and more people pay attention to the organic fertilizer of corn steep liquor, Some scholars have also conducted professional experiments on the effects of corn steep and its mixing with other organic inputs on saline-alkali land.

 

The soil type used in the experiment was saline-alkali soil: pH 9.41, alkalinity 45.62%, total salt content 2.51 g/kg, and the concentration of corn steep water used in the experiment was 65%.

 

There were 7 experimental groups. Control group (CK), 1/2 concentration of Corn Steep Liquor mixed with straw (1/2CSL+C), 1/2 concentration of Corn Steep Liquor mixed with biochar (1/ 2CSL+B), 1/2 times Corn Steep, peat mixture (1/2CSL+P), 1/2 times Corn Steep (1/2CSL), 1 times Corn Steep (CSL) and 2 times Corn Steep (2CSL) were added to find the optimal choice by adding 4 organic inputs.

 

The mixed organic inputs were fully mixed with the soil, and the corn was planted. After the autumn harvest, the soil of each experiment was tested and analyzed.

The yield, pH, total salt content and alkalinity of each experimental group are shown in Table 2. In each experimental group, 1/2CSL increased the yield the most. Compared with control group (CK), the output of the remaining experimental group was increased to 1/2CSL(193.65%), 1/2CSL+C(171.43%), CSL(165.08%), 1/2CSL+ P(74.60%), 1/2CSL+ B(66.67%).

 

The pH, total salt content and alkalinity of all experimental groups were decreased compared with control group (CK), pH decreased by 9.80%~11.09%, total salt content decreased by 12.2%~44.3%, of which 1/2CSL had the largest decrease. The alkalization degree was reduced by 12.67%~26.53%.

 

In the experiment, compared with the control group (CK), Organic carbon content is promoted to 1/2 CSL (46.19%) > CSL (38.75%) > 1/2 CSL + C (33.22%) > 1/2 CSL + 1/2 CSL (32.35%) > B + P (16.44%) > 2 CSL (6.06%), 1/2 CSL comprehensive best effect.  Among all groups, 1/2CSL had the best comprehensive effect.

 

The increase of humus can indicate the soil nutrient content. Compared with the control group (CK), the humus content of all experimental groups was increased, and the effect of 1/2CSL was the best. The results show that all organic inputs can improve the humus degree of saline-alkali soil, and the best effect is CSL powder (CSL).

 

3. Experiments show that corn steep powder can improve the health of saline-alkali soil

In the experiment, when the dosage is 2CSL, the pH value is reduced by 10.76%. When the application amount of corn pulp was 1/2CSL, the total salt content and alkalinity were 0.56 times and 0.47 times of the control group (CK), respectively. The pH, salt content and alkalinity of the saline soil could be reduced by applying corn steep and the mixture of maize steep liquor and other organic matter.

 

In conclusion, proper application of dry corn pulp powder can improve soil quality, soil fertility and plant yield in saline-alkali land. As a by-product of industrial production, Corn extract powder has a broad prospect in improving saline-alkali land and increasing crop yield in organic agriculture.
